12/13/09 Mug Shot of the Day; Police officer busted after beating stripper girlfriend

12/13/09 – Valley Brook, OK — A Valley Brook cop is on the wrong side of the law after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, handcuffing her and then chasing her as she flees to an Oklahoma City police station.

According to the official police report, Valley Brook police officer Jamie Sanchez, 33, became outraged, November 22 at about 2:30 p.m., when his 24-year old live-in girlfriend of the past year told him she wanted to breakup. According to people who know officer Sanchez and his girlfriend, they allege his unnamed girlfriend is a stripper at a Valley Brook club on SE 59th.

Sanchez’s girlfriend claims that when she tried to ignore Sanchez he “threw her face first onto the ground.”  Sanchez then placed a handcuff on the girl’s left wrist, but was unable to cuff the right one. Sanchez then threatened to arrest his girlfriend for assaulting a police officer. The girlfriend tried to calm Sanchez down by telling him she would not breakup with him and that they could talk about it at dinner after he got off duty. Sanchez then removed the handcuff, left their apartment and returned to work.

The girlfriend called another friend to pick her up and take her to a nearby convenience store so she could have Oklahoma City police meet her there and escort her to retrieve her property from the apartment so she could move out.

While waiting at the store in a friend’s truck Sanchez began text messaging her and threatening to arrest her for eluding a police officer if she did not call him back. A few minute later Sanchez spotted his girlfriend sitting in a truck in a 7-11 parking lot and pulled up in his patrol car and attempted to block them in.

The girlfriend and her friend were able to drive out of the parking lot and began driving towards the Oklahoma City Santa Fe division police headquarters at a high rate of speed. Sanchez immediately followed with lights and sirens.

Oklahoma City police interviewed both Sanchez and his girlfriend – After finding injuries consistent with the girlfriends story Sanchez was placed under arrest for domestic abuse and booked into the Oklahoma County jail.

Valley Brook police report that Sanchez resigned after his arrest.

OKRA News Bog will monitor this case and let you know if/when criminal charges are filed.

12/11/09 – Mug Shot of the Day – Ambulance joy ride!

12/11/09 – Del City, OK — C’mon, who hasn’t imagined themselves behind the wheel of an ambulance… whizzing through traffic with the strobe lights and siren blaring? Well, according to one Okie who lived the dream, its “a pretty good time.”

Meet Mindy Renee Jones, 28, of Cresent – aka, Ambulance Bandit!

According to police and published reports, Jones was a bit tipsy and was out looking for her boyfriend in the wee hours this morning. Eventually Jones was pulled over by Shawnee police for suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. Jones was taken to an area hospital for a blood test to determine her blood alcohol content. While at the hospital Jones got a little antsy and just couldn’t resist taking an idling ambulance out for a spin.

Around 3:00 a.m. Jones was spotted driving the ambulance on I-40. Troopers followed Jones to a residence in Del City where she stopped in the yard and was arrested.

Before being taken to the Oklahoma County Jail, Jones told a reporter with KOCO News Channel 5 she “had the ambulance and had a pretty good time driving it.

Former MLB pitcher and christian baseball ‘Ambassadors’ founder busted for prostitution

10/29/09 (updated 11/2/09) – OKC, OK — (as reported on JohnTV.com) A former MLB pitcher who once wore the uniform for the Pirates, Cardinals and Twins was arrested last night after reportedly trying to run the bases with an Internet prostitute.

According to the Oklahoma County jail blotter, Byron “Lee” Tunnell, 49, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail early this morning on a complaint of offering to engage in an act of prostitution.

Sources close to the case tell JohnTV.com that Tunnell responded to an online ad for “adult services.” What Tunnell didn’t realize is that the ‘hooker’ behind the ad was the originator of the BYOH party (Bring Your Own Handcuffs).

According to the police report (see end of story), Tunnell drove to the Extended Stay America at 2720 NW Expressway #329 per the instructions of the would-be prostitute.

Once there Tunnell reportedly offered $110 for “specific sexual contact.”

At this point we here at JohnTV imagine the faux-hoe produced a teeny-tiny badge from beneath her g-string and proclaimed “you’re out!”

Tunnell was placed under arrest and transported to jail. Tunnell reportedly posted a $500 bond and was released pending prosecution/persecution (take your pick).

Adding insult to hypocrisy, a little Googling (not the type Tunnell was apparently seeking) shows Tunnell is the inspiration behind the Oklahoma City non-profit, the Ambassadors – no, not the guys in the spiffy yellow ball caps who roam around downtown OKC – the ministry baseball team from Oklahoma that is focused on “impacting the lives of people … in the baseball community.”

According to the Ambassadors Web site; Tunnell, who’s been married since 1984 and has 4 children, gave his life to Christ at the age of 9, surrendered to ministry in 1981 (and proved himself a complete hypocrite October 28 of 2009) *Okay, we were adlibbing a bit there at the end.

When Tunnell isn’t spreading other things, he apparently spreads “the gospel” as seen in this YouTube video and this one.

JohnTV.com will be following this story and bringing you updates as available.

*NOTE: Appears the Tunnell PR damage control people are quick at work erasing his existence from the Web. The Ambassadors Web site link above now points nowhere. Fortunately, nothing is ever truly gone from the web and you can see a cached version of the page here. As for the YouTube links – the first has already been unpublished and I’m sure the second will be soon. JohnTV.com has already made copies and will post in the future.
